Highlights of the day include getting an autograph by #3 seed Fernando Verdasco today. Even when it started drizzling, he was nice enough to make sure every single kid there got a picture and/or autograph with him before he went into the locker room.
Also got to watch Kei Nichikori (Japanese junior) win in a tight 2nd set tie-breaker and close out the 3rd set against South Africa's Kevin Anderson. Also practicing up close was Yen-chen Lu, Hewitt, Gulbuis, and Baghdatis. Dimitry Tursenov - very funny blogger!! also came out to practice and take a photo-opt with the kids.
Update: I was also able to secure some VIP Parking passes for Lot A, this week's sessions (thanks Luke!) I have a temporary banner for my car until the official www.JCTennis.com stickers arrive. Let me know if you see my G37 there =)
My tournament (8/1) photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/demiace
It was a great day for tennis today; the weather was perfect most of the morning and afternoon with the rains only lasting a hour or two, action quickly resumed on court. There were a lots of kids and parents coming in for Family day at Legg Mason. I saw a lot of quick start tennis classes on the clay too. Thanks again for all the volunteers and organizers who help make it a great experience for all the little ones.
Feel free to add your comments and maybe I will see you there this week!
